about

A compilation of new material recorded for the Slow Train Tour in early 2013. Originally meant to be a limited-time offering, as it stands this is the most up-to-date collection of songs from the current repertoire. Deeper into the spiritual questions -- instructions for the author's mourners (Song For When I Am Gone), a Job-esque tale (Jesse Winters), songs for healing (Live Again, Mighty Jim), and a sad love song (Wililamsburg Bridge). Epic 10-minute title track (The Way) ruminating on the urban desert of the heart and the battle to claim one's own pain.

Workman Song Brooklyn, New York

Workman Song is Seán McMahon. A country preacher who cut his teeth on NYC subway platforms & stages, McMahon is known for his “gritty, freewheeling folk...earnest, amber-toned songs exploring the edges of faith” (The Wild Honey Pie) & a live show that's "equal parts Rodriguez (Searching For Sugarman), Bruce, and the Dead…what Dylan would have sounded like on about six tabs of acid" (Baeblemusic). ... more
