yeshua may have arisen on a sunday
but i think we've been a bit misled about his birthday
after all, it's just the solstice holiday
christmas is a wonderful time for cheer
but it probably should be some other time of year, like the fall
some have said that the rabbi was a pisces
others have calculated capricorn or aries
he's a springtime baby or he might be a summer flower
christmas is a wonderful time for snow
but only in the kind of place where that weather goes, like canada (amen)
well if you got some cash for presents
might as well as well give alms to the peasants
doesn't matter if it's really christmas
and if you're not a red wine drinker
and you're not a subscribing body bread breaker
may you ride out the yuletide like a surfer
with grace and some nameless cheer.
i'm not trying to burst no bubbles
but i'm just pointing out that this might not actually be christmas at all.

O Divine Baby in the cradle,
All that is poet in me
Is the dream I dreamed
of Your Childhood
And the dream You
dreamed of me.
O Divine Baby in the cradle,
All that is truth in me
Is my mind tuned to the cadence
Of a child's philosophy.
O Divine Baby in the cradle,
All that is pride in me
Is my mind bowed in homage
Upon Your Mother's knee.
O Divine Baby in the cradle,
All that is joy in me
Is that I have saved from the ruin
Of my soul Your Infancy.

Peak (New Year's Song)
02:46
|
|
||
in the year 2013
we were gathered round the tree
and we wanted to be free
by the dawn of 2014
and the year gone by was sweet
but we sure as hell know that it did not come cheap
now i'm watching how i sleep
and i'm listening to myself speak
what if this was just the peak?
what if this is just the peak?
